Title I Pre-K
The Title I Pre-K classrooms are located at Knollwood, Hurley, Koontz, North Rowan, and Hanford-Dole elementary schools. Students must reside in Rowan County, be 4 years old by August 31, 2026, and demonstrate an educational need during the screening process. Screening applications will be available online from February 2 until February 27, 2026 at 3:30 p.m.
NC Pre-K / Smart Start
The NC Pre-K classrooms are located at Landis, China Grove, Shive, Granite Quarry, Morgan, and West Rowan elementary schools. Students are selected and placed in these classrooms based on the SmartStart Rowan eligibility and application process. Applications are open all year and can be accessed here:
